Dana White Says Conor McGregor is Floyd Mayweather of MMA, Floyd Objects

Recently in UFC 205 Conor Mr. Badassr McGregor made history to become the only MMA Athlete to ever hold multiple championship belts in two separate decisions. Following his incredible win over Eddie Alvarez many fans including UFC’s own Dana White got to comparing McGregor’s standing in the MMA to Floyd Mayweather’s standing in the boxing world.

Apparently Mayweather got wind of the comparisons that were being made and decided to voice his opinion to remind people of why McGregor should not and cannot be compared to him.

Here’s what Floyd had to say:

I didn’t know Conor McGregor was undefeated, I didn’t know he’s been reigning [over] MMA twenty years undefeated, and was world champion in five different weight classes. That’s something I didn’t know…So I guess you guys are telling me something new if you’re saying he’s the Floyd Mayweather of MMA. If you’re saying he’s the Floyd Mayweather of MMA I’m trying to find out, has he ever made $300 million in one night? Have you ever made $100 million in one night? Have you ever made $70 million in one night. As far as trying to say he’s the Floyd Mayweather of MMA, I mean it’s okay to say it…it’s just not true.”

“I’m a legend, a living legend, I gave years and years of hard work to the sport of boxing, it was blood, sweat, & tears, had a tremendous team, a tremendous run. Conor McGregor goes out there and does what he does, but never compare Conor McGregor to me. That’s a total disrespect. I’m an elephant, elephant don’t beef with ants. Elephant is so large he doesn’t even see ants.”

McGregor fired back: “Say it to my face” to Mayweather.

And now, UFC President Dana White ripping Mayweather:

“Conor McGregor…if he touches you, you go to sleep,” he said. “Floyd puts people to sleep too, with his fighting style, not with his hands. … Floyd can say what he wants about Conor, but even other fighters have to respect him. He’s special. Floyd’s never even come close to doing to other fighters what Conor does.”
